Precision Moisture Testing (in most cases) provides same-day independent Concrete Moisture (RH) Testing in accordance with ASTM F2170 standards, as well as Alkalinity Testing per ASTM F710 standards, including Trending, Data Logging, and Reporting. We do NOT sell or endorse moisture mitigation products, nor do we offer moisture mitigation services. This commitment ensures that our moisture readings remain impartial, fostering trust and transparency with our clients. This is particularly crucial for projects involving government agencies and school districts. Additionally, Calcium Chloride tests are available upon request.
All types of flooring are vulnerable to failure if moisture conditions are not properly monitored and managed. The moisture content of a concrete slab plays a critical role long before the flooring is installed. If the slab is not adequately dried and cured before installation, moisture issues are highly likely. These moisture-related problems can also lead to health concerns, as issues such as mildew, mold, gaps, uneven surfaces, and unsecured flooring present risks to anyone in the area.
The last thing anyone wants is to face the costly and disruptive task of repairing an entire flooring system due to moisture-related damage. The expense of remediating a flooring failure—or, in more severe cases, addressing issues with the concrete subfloor—can significantly impact business operations, costs, labor, and reputation.
The good news is that taking proactive steps can significantly reduce the risk of excess moisture in both the concrete slab and the flooring system. However, to effectively ensure optimal conditions for flooring installation, it is essential to have a foundational understanding of concrete and its moisture dynamics.
